About me
I love being outside with my camera. I am drawn to places where nature sets the terms, and I photograph the landscape there.
Photography freezes the landscape. In my studio, I want to set it in motion again. There, I try to make tangible what cannot be held: the continuous movement of the world around us.
With my hands, I fold, bend and shape photographs printed on Japanese paper, turning them into physical objects. Light and shadow become part of the work and continuously transform the image.
I am fascinated by landscapes shaped by movement and erosion — water, stone, trees, shifting terrain. These processes unfold on a timescale that reaches far beyond a human lifetime.
People are largely absent from my work. When human figures appear, they refer to our temporary presence and the traces we leave behind.
The landscape never needed us.
