About me

With photography, I bring the landscape to a standstill. In my studio, I try to return its movement and change. By printing my photographs on Japanese paper and folding, bending and shaping the paper, the image itself becomes changeable. Light and shadow become part of the work and continue to alter the image.

The human world can feel loud, chaotic and all-consuming. In the landscape, I find a different scale. Natural processes are older, slower and greater than we are. Against that vastness, our human urgencies become relative. That gives me space and calm.

I am drawn to landscapes shaped by movement and erosion: water, stone, trees and shifting terrain. People are largely absent from my work. When human figures do appear, they point to our temporary presence and to the traces we leave behind.

The landscape never needed us.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Before dedicating myself fully to my artistic practice, I worked as a researcher and lecturer in academia. My academic work focused on human memory, investigative interviewing and the reliability of eyewitness testimony.
